Mike Metzger honored by Jamestown Area Chamber

Michael Metzger, the President of The Resource Center's Board of Directors, received the 2011 Community Service Award from the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce at the Chautauqua County Chamber's Annual Awards Banquet.

The event was held October 6 at the Chautauqua Suites Meeting and Expo Center in Mayville.

Mike, the President of Blackstone Business Enterprises in Jamestown, has a long record of volunteer service with a number of area organizations — the United Way of Southern Chautauqua County, the Community Foundation of the Chautauqua Region, the American Red Cross, and Falconer Central School.

In videotaped remarks shown at the event, Mike paid tribute to TRC and to service recipients Nick Kilpatrick and Stacy Langheinrich.  Mike mentioned their vibrant personalities and that he is fortunate to have hanging on his wall a painting created by them.

Two other people with a TRC connection also were honored at the event.  Kenneth Strickler received the Chautauqua County Chamber’s Person of the Year honor, while Patricia Christina received the Fredonia Chamber’s Community Service Award.  Ken and Pat are financial supporters of TRC.

The Resource Center and TRC Foundation congratulate Mike, Ken and Pat on their well-deserved honors from the Chamber.
