Tickets are on sale for the fifth annual Toys for Tots Charity Ball, which will be held Saturday, October 8, at the Robert H. Jackson Center in Jamestown.
The event is a fund-raiser for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots drive in Chautauqua County. For the past 11 years, employees of The Resource Center have coordinated the Toys for Tots drive, making the holidays happier for underprivileged children. Last year, 2,589 children received toys.

This year’s charity ball begins with a hors d’oeuvres reception at 7:00 p.m. at the Jackson Center, located at 305 East Fourth Street. At 8:00 there will be a variety show featuring several acts, including The Lights of Broadway, performing its unique and hilarious comedy; Samantha DeJesus, the winner of the 2011 Chautauqua Lake Idol contest; singer Shannon Nixon, who won the 2010 Chautauqua’s Got Talent competition; musical group Band Hanna; and the musical duo Onomatopoeia (Adam McKillip and Melanie Luciano).
The variety show also will feature the return of the popular “TRC Village People”, a group of men who perform a dance routine to a medley of songs by the famous disco band; and the “Village Women”, a group of female TRC employees who will perform an original dance routine to Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance”.
A new act this year will be a dance routine to the legendary Michael Jackson song, “Thriller”. Laura Cimino, the owner of Guys and Dolls Dance Studio in Kiantone, is choreographing the routine.
During intermission, a decadent dessert buffet will be served while guests bid on silent-auction items. This years’ auction will again feature many donations from local supporters and businesses.
