Observer’s Laurel Run newspaper sale July 1

Volunteers will take to the streets Thursday morning, July 1, to sell copies of the “Laurel Run” edition of the Observer newspaper.
For the fourth straight year, the Observer is printing a special edition focusing on Laurel Run. While the special edition also will contain the regular newspaper, the special edition only will be sold on the streets – it will not be delivered to Observer subscribers nor sold in the usual locations.
The special edition will feature lots of information about the 14th annual Laurel Run, which takes place July 16-17. The event, created by Wayne and Elaine Hotelling in honor of their oldest daughter, seeks to raise awareness about the potential existing within people with disabilities. Money generated from the event supports disability awareness and prevention programs in Chautauqua County; Laurel Run proceeds also are used to enhance employment and work training opportunities for adults with disabilities at TRC’s Work Centers.
Newspapers will be sold from 6 to 9 a.m. at the following locations:
- At Tim Hortons locations in Dunkirk, Fredonia, Gowanda, and Irving
- Near Brooks Hospital in Dunkirk
- Near the D&F Plaza
- Throughout downtown Fredonia
- In downtown Brocton
Papers also will be sold from 7:30 to 11:00 at the WalMart in Fredonia.
We thank Publisher John D’Agostino and his staff at the Observer for printing the special edition of the paper again this year. And we thank all of our volunteers for waking up early to sell the papers!
