For the sixth straight year, TRC will be the major sponsor of Jamestown's Holiday Parade.

The 2010 "Jamestown's Wide World of Christmas" Parade and Holiday Celebration is scheduled for Friday, December 3.  Partnering with the Downtown Jamestown Development Corporation each year to sponsor the parade is a way for The Resource Center and TRC Foundation to thank the community for its ongoing support.

"The Resource Center and DJDC have collaborated on a number of special events,” said Michael Felice, the Chair of TRC Foundation's Board of Directors.  “The TRC Foundation has a long record of responding to needs of individuals with disabilities, and I like to think the Holiday Parade touches the lives of a lot of people in our area.

"Of all the special events presented by The Resource Center and the TRC Foundation, our Holiday Parade is the most visible to our community.  It is a way that we can show our appreciation to all those who have made contributions to our Foundation, so that we can continue to provide services to those individuals with disabilities in Chautauqua County.  It is our hope to continue to be a sponsor of the Holiday Parade for years to come."

"The Resource Center is proud to be a part of the annual Holiday Parade," said Michael Metzger, the President of The Resource Center's Board.  "Many thanks to the DJDC for providing the Jamestown community with quality family entertainment."

This year's parade theme coincides with the fact Jamestown will be the site of some of the games during December's International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship.  Parade units are encouraged to select any country and incorporate that country's Christmas or holiday traditions into their display.

TRC typically has several floats in the parade.  We encourage TRC staff, service recipients, family members, friends, and community members to march with us.  If interested, phone Victoria Trass Bardo, Special Projects and Events Coordinator, at 661-1477.

The parade begins at 6:30 p.m., with line-up beginning at 5:00 along West Third Street.  Jamestown's own 10,000 Maniacs, who used to play at TRC venues before reaching nation-wide fame, will kick off the Holiday Celebration with a free concert on Tracy Plaza.
