Julie McCarthy joins The Resource Center’s board
The Resource Center is pleased to announce that Julie McCarthy has joined the board of directors. She was appointed to replace Zoe Fellows, who recently resigned from the board.
Julie has been involved with TRC for several years, serving on the Board's Community Support/Employment Services Committee and regularly attending the monthly Jamestown meetings of the Parents for Parents support group. She also played an integral role in organizing and implementing TRC Foundation's inaugural Step Up for Autism event last September.
Julie works at The Post-Journal as the newspaper sales coordinator and Newspapers in Education Program coordinator. Through her efforts, TRC has been the beneficiary of The P-J's annual "Make A Difference Day" newspaper sales.
Julie has an associate degree in business administration marketing and management from Jamestown Business College. She lives in Conewango Valley with her companion, Doug Volpe, and has three sons, one of whom receives supports from TRC.

The Resource Center supports more than 1,000 people with disabling conditions and their families in Chautauqua County. The agency also offers a variety of health and mental health services that are available to everyone, and more than 10,000 Chautauqua County residents take advantage of those services. TRC’s board of directors sets policy for the agency and maintains oversight of the organization.
“How honored I am to be part of such an incredible group of individuals and to continue to serve TRC and the wonderful things that everyone does there; from support staff to administration and beyond, which includes hard-working parents who also volunteer their time, with everyone knowing that it's all for a truly, truly wonderful cause,” Julie said. “To promote awareness and acceptance of our loved ones in our communities. We are all one and the same, yet it's our differences that make us unique. I have enjoyed being active in the Parents for Parents support group for three years, and just recently both the Step Up for Autism walk and the Community Support/Employment Services Committees. Now to continue that service as part of the Board.”
