Art show a success

Paul Cesana, Executive Director of The Resource Center, accepts an award in the shape of the Toys for Tots train logo from the coordinators of the local toy drive
Mindy Block, TRC Medicaid Service Coordinator, poses with James Spicer while holding one of the painting James created in the TBI Art Program.

More than 60 people turned out for an art show featuring works created by individuals who have sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

The event, held December 17 at The Resource Center’s facility at 186 Lake Shore Drive West in Dunkirk, featured works created by people who participate in TRC’s TBI Art Program.  Attendees bought a total of 15 framed paintings and 77 note cards (bearing prints of paintings on the front and information about the artists on the back), raising $420.50 for the Art Program.

The artists with TBI also will have paintings on display at the Falconer Public Library, 101 West Main Street, during January.  Exhibit hours are 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays; 9:00 to 5:00 Thursdays and Fridays; and 9:00 to 3:00 Saturdays.  For more information, phone TRC at 366-8008 or the library at 665-3504.
